Last updated 7 Nov 2026
This policy explains how Wetin Dey Integrated Technology Limited (RC: 1344524) ("Wetin Dey", "we") collects and uses personal data through wetindey.space, the Code Academy application form, the student portal, the Wetin Dey Store and our contact channels. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
1. Data we collect
- Applications: name, gender, phone number, email address, state of residence, chosen programme and coding experience, plus the IP address used to apply.
- Student portal: your student ID, a securely scrambled password, course progress, assignment submissions, grades, attendance, payments and certificate.
- Store orders: name, phone, email (optional), delivery address and the items ordered.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Payments and receipts: amount, date, payment method and the bank you paid from.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms, and settings stored in your own browser (light/dark theme and your shopping cart).
2. How we use it
We use your data to process applications and admissions, run classes and the student portal, issue receipts and certificates, fulfil store orders, reply to enquiries, keep the website secure, and send you information about your programme. With your consent, we may tell you about new cohorts, scholarships and events; you can opt out at any time.
3. Legal basis
We rely on performing our contract with you (training, orders, services), our legitimate interests (security, improving our services), legal obligations (financial records), and your consent where required.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website, such as our hosting and email providers; Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that application forms are not submitted by bots; and YouTube, when you choose to play an embedded video. We may disclose data where required by law.
5. Retention
Application and student records are kept for as long as needed to support you as a student and alumnus and to verify certificates. Financial records are kept for the period required by law. Contact messages and unsuccessful applications are deleted when no longer needed.
6. Security
Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form, forms are protected against forgery, and access to records is limited to authorised staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your portal password private.
7. Children
Some programmes, such as the Summer Coding Bootcamp, are for young learners. Applications for anyone under 18 should be made with the consent of a parent or guardian, who may contact us about the child’s data.
8. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. Contact us at support@wetindey.space. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
